Released in 2006, Pans Labyrinth relates a dark and artistic tone to its audience. The story follows a young girl as she moves in with her step-father and her pregnant mother. By the house is a maze and werid creatures come and talk to the young girl. Her step father is high ranking official and his very stubborn and aggressive. Its a very dark and mysterious movie. The movie won best art direction and make up in 2006 Oscar. So its worth picking it up and seeing, only thing is, its subtitles thorough the whole movie.

Subtitles make me feel like I'm missing the movie. It's like reading a book about the movie. I'd spend so much time reading the subtitles, I wouldn't even look up at what would be going on.
ReplyDeleteI really like this movie. The actors were great, the storylines were mystical, and the effects were surreal. The movie was in spanish with subtitles that I didn't mind cause I speak spanish already. The movie in spanish to me has more effect because the language was written marvelous. Some might see the movie for the effects that are in it, but it has more than that. It speaks to a child's heart and imagination. The relationships between daughters and step-fathers is focus on the movie. They have a rivalry in the movie that tears both worlds (spoiler) apart.

ReplyDeleteThe movie containt sounds good, but the picture is scary. I hope it is not like Japanese moive "The Ring". Now I am still regret to watch that moive. I have not watch this moive you mentioned here yet. Hopefully I can still borrow or rent from somewhere to watch it.
ReplyDeleteI recall watching the movie like 3-4 years ago. The movie was totally different than i originally imagined (for reference i thought it was a fantasy children movie). Just the guy himself pictured above is pretty freaky. I myself wouldn't consider it that great of a movie, but it's definitely worth the watch.
